A meeting shaped by forty years of scientific exchange—and by the challenges that will define the next generation of fire-safe polymeric materials.
Conference announcement
Dear Colleagues,
Polymeric materials are so deeply integrated into modern life that we often overlook how dependent we have become on them. They are found in our homes, workplaces, vehicles, communication systems, energy technologies and medical devices. Their versatility has transformed society and continues to enable innovation across virtually every sector.
With this widespread use comes responsibility. Polymer science is increasingly called upon to address major societal challenges, including safety, sustainability and resource efficiency. Among these challenges, fire safety remains of paramount importance.
Performance with responsibility
The development of flame-retardant solutions can no longer focus solely on performance. New materials and technologies must also respond to growing environmental concerns, stricter regulations and the need for a more circular use of resources.
The future of fire-retardant polymeric materials lies in solutions that combine effectiveness, safety, sustainability and recyclability.FRPM 2027 Conference Chairs
A travelling scientific community
For more than forty years, the FRPM conference series has accompanied the scientific and technological progress of this field. Since the first 1987 meeting in Saint-Denis, FRPM has provided a forum where researchers, industrial scientists and students can share ideas, discuss challenges and shape future directions.
As FRPM returns to Italy, the 2027 edition celebrates the journey of a conference that has travelled across Europe and beyond, bringing together generations of scientists from around the world.
Welcome to Milan
The conference will take place from 20 to 23 July 2027 in the historic Ca’ Granda, the Renaissance building that houses the University of Milan headquarters in the heart of the city.
We warmly invite you to exchange knowledge, build collaborations and contribute to the next advances in fire-retardant polymeric materials.
